Maggie khorami

Experimental - industrial - noise music

I'm Maggie, an experimental musician, sound artist, and sound engineer based in the Netherlands. I graduated from Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague and have a background in classical violin and Fine Art.

My artistic practice includes sound and light installations, instrument design, interactive sound design, and collaborative audiovisual projects; I also work as a sound engineer. My music is characterized by layered, dark electronic textures and the seamless integration of my voice with custom-built instruments. I draw inspiration from societal discord, political and social contexts, and the intricacies of human interaction, creating sonic experiences that evoke emotional depth and complexity.

In my artistic journey, I push the boundaries of traditional violin performance and custom-designed instruments, exploring experimental techniques and innovative methods to express my surroundings, emotions, and struggles. By merging unconventional approaches with advanced technology, alongside my research into interactive light performance and installation, I navigate the chaos and complexity of the modern world — using music and light as mediums for both personal and collective expression.
